All blinds supplied and fitted by Solar Shield Blinds meet the recent regulations, brought into effect in early 2014. This is the child safety requirement BS EN 13120:2009+A1:2014 . In summary we ensure that all blinds manufactured and installed to meet the child safety regulations, even if you do have children resident within your home, as they may visit or you may leave the blinds behind on moving.

Thinner fabrics to allow a diffused amount of light through. There are waterproof fabrics that are also wipe clean. We also offer Duorol and Vision Blinds where blinds are made of two layers of material, allowing you to change the light levels in the room, the transparency as well as the overall colour. These blinds are often used in conservatories as they can be fitted both free-hanging in windows and into the skylights and shaped roof space. The material is a suitably versatile blind fabric, they operate on wires and when 'up' they fold neatly in a concertina fashion. They're a great option if you would like to finish your space with a sleek and modern look and are available in a wide range of colours, from neutral tones to summer brights. The range of options we offer you in venetian blinds is quite astounding. Your first choice is to select the base material, as these blinds can be made from wood, faux wood or metal. Each material then comes with a variety of colours, tones and finishes. You are even able to choose the width of the slats to suit your particular window and tastes and the ladder tapes.
Of the range wooden venetian blinds are more commonly seen within the home with faux wood a close second and metal blinds being used more often in a commercial setting. Perfect Fit Blinds / INTU Blinds
INTU PLEATED BLINDS
These blinds are ideal if you want everything to be sleek, tidy and contained. Named so, as they fit perfectly into the space between the glazing and beading on your uPVC windows. They give the appearance of becoming an integral part of the window and even stay in place when the window is opened. Perfect Fit or INTU blinds are great for homes with small children as they have no control cords. Perfect Fit and INTU blinds are available in roller, pleated and venetian blinds. Motorisation
Virtually all blind types and styles can now be motorised. Whether it by mains powered, battery powered or even solar powered, we can help with your requirements. A great benefit of going for remote controlled blinds is the safety aspect. Motors remove the need for any operation cords and therefore making the blind extremely safe. In a setting such as a school it can also remove the ability to operate blinds by people that are not authorised to do so. These motors offer a “press and forget” operation, meaning you simply press the button and the blind will travel until it hits the limits that have been set on installation. Whilst still offering the ability to stop the blind whenever you wish. They can also be used in groups or individually and with the addition of a hub can be used with your voice activated devices such as Alexa.
Featured in the video is a Cassette Style Blackout Roller Blind with rechargeable battery motor. These motors only need charging every 6 months or so depending on use.
