Blind & Shade Repair

Is repairing the right choice?

There are literally thousands of different types of window treatments hanging in windows all across Peoria and Central Illinois. Many of those blinds and shades were produced by companies that have no ability to repair their products. They are single time use blinds or shades, like what you find on the shelf at box stores. These products are meant to be used until one part breaks, then discarded. These types of single use window treatments are not made for repair. No spare parts can be found, because they don’t produce them. These are products that we do not recommend any type of service or repair as the cost of repair is usually far more than the original cost of the product. However, there are some custom products (not all) that are designed to be taken apart and rebuilt using new parts that are still produced by the original manufacturer. Just because a product is a name brand, doesn’t mean that there are parts, so it really does depend on the actual product, not just the brand. We can help identify which products are good to repair, and which ones just need to be replaced. We never recommend spending money on a repair when replacement is the right answer.

But in some cases, a repair makes far more sense. Our trained technicians can help you navigate your broken blind or shade, even if we didn’t originally provide or install the product for you.

  • Slats, vanes and carriersBroken slats, popped vertical vanes, and broken carriers are not able to be repaired.
