Who We Are

A window treatment company with one mission

Tim & Denise Sanders are the founders of Solar Shield Blinds. They started the business in their hometown of Peoria, IL in 2006. At that time, Tim handled all of the sales, installs, and service calls, and Denise took care of scheduling and the administrative tasks, all while raising three young children. Those early days proved to be pivotal in building a strong foundation, one that has kept their clients first, no matter what.

In 2018, Tim, Denise, and their three children, moved to Kansas City, MO to start a new location of Solar Shield Blinds in hopes to expand and grow their business.

Over twenty years of growth, hiring a team, and continually improving processes, they saw their mission become more and more clear every day. They now have a single mission shared by their team in both Kansas City and Peoria. The mission is simple: To bring elevated comfort to more people, in more places, through genuinely friendliness, innovative solutions, and by providing a YES experience.

Tim now manages the sales and installation team in his role as President, and Denise oversees the finances and human resources in her role as Director of People & Finance. Together, they have created a culture that puts the client experience at the center of everything, while also prioritizing their team culture.
