Warmth And Texture
Warmth and texture, straight from nature
Bamboo, jute, reed and grass, woven together by hand to create a natural woven shade that blends luxury and thoughtful design.
Bring warmth and texture into your home by using the natural grasses, reeds and bamboo in our Natural Woven Shades. This all natural material is thoughtfully blended together with your home in mind.
Available in both cordless and motorized operation. Our natural woven shades have the option for no liner, so the weave of the shade leaves a soft sheer view out, however, they can also have either a light filtering or a room darkening liner added behind the woven fabric to provide whatever level of protection your room needs. We even have fully functional liners that allow you to control when the liner is behind the shade or not. These types of options give you maximum control over the light, privacy, and overall style of your space.
Why Our Clients Choose Them
What natural woven shades do for your home
- Texture You Can FeelThe single most effective thing you can add to a cold, hard space. Warm, textured materials against colder finishes of tile, stone and stainless steel is the perfect combination.
- Liners Create The Privacy You NeedChoose from no liner, light filtering privacy liner, or a room darkening liner. No matter how you want to use your space, we will make sure your shade gives you the correct level of control.
- Naturally Sourced MaterialsBamboo, jute, reed and grasses, from rapidly renewable crops that take less energy to produce than anything synthetic. These materials help create a highly sustainable shade product for your home.
The longer version
Whether you need privacy, light control, heat protection, or you just want to add an element of warm, comfortable design to a room, our Natural Woven Shades will do it.
Unlined, the light filters through the weave and the texture shows from across the room. It's worth knowing that at night from the outside, unlined natural woven shades are not fully private as there is no liner. So if the window is street facing or in an area where full privacy is needed at any point during the day or night, we always recommend adding a liner.
A light filtering liner attaches to the backside of the natural woven fabric and creates full privacy when the shade is lowered, no matter what time of day it is. Light filtering liners also create complete protection from direct sunlight, and will take the direct ball of the sun off your furniture and flooring during harsh times of sunlight during the day. This helps create better efficiency in your space and more comfortable temperatures.
A room darkening liner goes even further and not only creates full privacy, but also blocks direct and glowing light from entering the center of the shade. A room darkening lined shade is heavier and stacks a little thicker at the top. Light can still seep in the edges where the shade and the window casing meet, but as a single layer product, natural woven shades with room darkening liners create very comfortable spaces for daytime naps or movie watching experiences.
Because every panel of fabric is woven from a natural material, no two shades are truly identical. That's part of the custom and natural nature of these shades, and one reason our designers love them so much. The variation in the grasses and reeds is what gives a room the warmth a printed or patterned fabric can’t quite achieve.
We carry hundreds of natural woven fabrics to choose from and your Design Specialist will bring the samples to your home so you can hold them against your own trim, walls, and floors. Texture is very hard to judge from a photograph, which is exactly why we bring the shop to you.

Naturally Sourced Materials
Where the material comes from

Naturally sourced materials
Naturally sourced materials are the foundation of sustainability, which is what makes these shades special. We source rapidly renewable fibers from well-managed farming ecosystems that require less energy to produce than synthetic materials.

Bamboo
One of the fastest growing plants on earth, bamboo can grow up to 1 to 3 feet per day. Its ability to regenerate in just 3 to 5 years makes it such a good sustainable resource.

Jute
The jute plant is an annual herb and is biodegradable, which makes it extremely environmentally friendly. There are 3 types, each with different textures and colors.

Yes. Our custom window treatments come with transferable warranties. If you move, the warranty continues, which means the next owner is covered the same way you were.
Not on their own. The weave has gaps by design. Add a privacy liner for daytime and evening privacy, or a blackout liner if the room needs to be dark.
Closely, not exactly. Natural material varies within and between production runs. We order all the shades for a room together to keep them as consistent as possible.
Yes, with sense. Keep them off the range and out of direct steam. A woven shade over a sink is common and fine. One directly above a cooktop is not.
Yes. Lined woven shades are heavy, and motorization removes the effort entirely.
Natural materials such as bamboo, reeds, and jute, which makes them eco friendly as well as stylish. Because the material is natural, slight color variations and an inconsistent weave are part of the shade, not a flaw. They work in modern and traditional rooms alike, and they layer beautifully under drapery.
Three. Unlined, where the weave leaves a soft sheer view out and some light filters through the gaps between the fibers. A privacy liner, which gives you full privacy day and night. Or a room darkening liner for bedrooms and media rooms. Edge banding can be added to any of them for color and style.
On an unlined shade the cords and rings on the back of the shade can be visible from outside, and at night the room shows through the weave. A liner covers both, which is why we recommend one on any street facing window.
The edges of a woven shade can fray if there is excessive rubbing or contact with fabric, so we keep them clear of anything that brushes past them, and edge binding adds a finished border that protects the edge as well as looking good.
