Want your new window treatments to look and function at their best? Proper installation is a must. Poorly trained installers can derail even the simplest residential or commercial project, and expert installers can tackle even the most complex ones with ease.

At Solar Shield Blinds, expert installations are our only acceptable standard.

To meet and maintain that standard we rely on a complete process that leaves nothing up to chance. From fully employed staff to systematic, skills-based training, it's all there.

It also means accountability does not move around. We measure, plan, order, and professionally install every project. This assures there’s no middle man that can lead to finger pointing, delays, and potentially lost time and money. We’ve seen those types of nightmares, and we’ve been called in to save clients from the middle of those situations. We are accountable for every aspect of your project, and we will make sure you are completely satisfied with the finished installation.

In-House Employees On Every Project

Subcontractors are common in this industry

Their use has some serious potential drawbacks. Here is what changes when the crew works for the company that sold you the job.

What a subcontracted crew costs you

  • A lack of direct company control over your project
  • Inconsistent or inadequate project oversight
  • Unclear responsibility for the final results

What you get instead

  • Everyone on the team knows what is expected of them, from the newest techs to the Lead Installers
  • Control, consistency and accountability are built in from the start
  • One Install Manager oversees every crew and reports to our owner, Tim

A Structured Training System

Every installer climbs the same ladder

How well-trained are the installers working on your project? At Solar Shield Blinds, every employee develops their skill set in the same system, in the same order.

Apprentice

Newcomers start here, working under a veteran installer.

Install Tech 1

Smaller, simpler jobs, carried out with supervision.

Install Tech 2

The next step up, still only on work they have proven they can do.

Crew Lead

Takes over on the more complicated projects.

Lead Installer

The most complex installations, and the ones needing the most delicate touch.

Install Manager

A single manager oversees it all and reports to our owner, Tim.

This tiered system is what lets us match the level of expertise to the job. Crew sizes change with the job too. It is efficient, and it gives us the flexibility to hold the same standard on a two window bedroom and on a commercial building.

Solutions For Every Installation Challenge

Every Install Tech is a trained problem solver

They know how to spot a potential installation problem, and they know how to develop a solution to get around it.

Sometimes that means reaching for an existing customization method to create a workaround. Sometimes it means creating a new method. If there is a conceivable way to get the job done, we will find it.

The YES Experience

Installation Day

What our Install Techs actually do

Protect the room

Tested with you

Every single product is operated with you to assure you understand how everything works.

Clean up

Our install techs clean up the work space and haul away all packing and any old window treatments.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. All Solar Shield Blinds installers are in-house employees. The company that measured your windows is the company that installs them and the company you call if something needs adjusting later.

By where the installer sits in our training system. Apprentices work under a veteran. Install Techs handle smaller, simpler jobs with supervision. A Crew Lead or Lead Installer takes over on more complicated projects, and crew sizes change with what the job needs.

We are, and there is nobody else in the chain to point at. The same company measured, ordered, built and hung the job. A single Install Manager oversees every crew and reports to our owner, Tim.

The crew arrives with drop cloths and a vacuum, hangs the order, and takes the packaging away with them. Before anyone leaves, someone walks every room with you and operates every single shade in front of you.
