Roller Shades On A Wall Of Doors
Low sun off the table, deck back in the room
A run of sliding glass doors facing the water, covered in Roller Shades. Down, they take the glare off the dining table without shutting the view out. Up, they roll into a compact tube at the top and the doors are just doors again.
Roller Shades
Roller Shades for Sliding Doors
Roller Shades make great functional solutions for patio doors and sliding glass doors. They roll up very compact at the top to give full clearance of the doorway when you want to walk through, they offer full privacy when closed, and they give amazing light control, depending on the level of light blocking you are going for. Roller Shades also have a very modern look but can be used in any style of home. Roller Shades can be operated using our Solar Shield Blinds Automation products, they can be operated by hand using our Cordless Lift option, or you can opt for a standard chain loop control. Roller Shades are versatile while offering over 600 fabric options.
Sheer Verticals
Sheer Verticals for Patio Doors
Enhance the look of your patio door or sliding glass door with our Solar Shield Blinds Vertical Sheers. These Sheer Verticals allow you to rotate the vanes 180 degrees to maximize the view or minimize the direct light, they add privacy without you losing the easy access to the outdoors, and they add UV protection for your floors and interior furnishings. If you're looking for a way to soften your patio door or sliding glass door, while also adding functional control, then check out our Sheer Verticals.

Vertical Blinds
Vertical Blinds for Sliding Doors
The classic Vertical Blind is still a great choice for patio doors or sliding glass doors when it comes to finding an economical, yet highly functional product. Vertical Blinds offer the ability to create full privacy inside a space, or the ability to direct the light into the room no matter the direction you prefer. With the vertical vanes being available in both PVC and fabric options, you can choose the style and color that fits your space the best, all while adding function to your door.
Bi-Fold Shutters
Bi-Fold Shutters for Patio Doors
Plantation Shutters are a great option for covering sliding glass doors and patio doors. They allow you to tilt the louvers for privacy and light control in order to create a comfortable space inside your home. Our Solar Shield Blinds Bi-fold Shutters allow you to fold the panels 180 degrees back against the wall on either side of the door opening. This allows you to easily use your door, and then easily close your shutters to create the privacy you desire. In addition to being very functional, shutters on doors give a rich and inviting look in a space. Bi-fold Shutters do require open space on either side of the door in order to have the stack sit properly when open. Our Design Specialists are able to help determine the best product for your sliding door.
Bypass Shutters
Bypass Shutters for Sliding Doors
If you have a patio door or sliding glass door that has limited space on either side, then our Solar Shield Blinds Bypass Shutters are a great solution. You can tilt the louvers open and closed to create privacy and light control. Simply slide the panels to the side to enter or exit the door. We have the option for an "Open Bypass" which allows you to keep your louvers tilted open as you slide the panels over one another. This gives a lot of additional control options with the louvers for light and view control. Bypass Shutters create stunning and dramatic looks on patio doors and really make an impact on the overall look of a room.
Vertical Honeycombs
Vertical Honeycombs for Doors
Vertical Honeycomb Shades installed on sliding glass doors or patio doors offer the ability to have your shade all but disappear when stacked open, but also provide ample privacy and energy efficiency when closed. Honeycomb fabric is a great insulating barrier between the inside of your home and the extreme heat or cold of the outdoors. And, your large patio slider is a major source for radiant cold or heat to push into your home. So once you can slide our Vertical Honeycomb Shade closed over your glass, you legitimately feel the difference immediately. Make your space more comfortable, and keep your open views when you want.

Panel Tracks
Panel Tracks for Sliding Doors
Panel Tracks are a modern take on covering patio sliding doors. Our Solar Shield Blinds Panel Tracks use the same fabric as our Roller Shades, so there are over 600 fabric options to choose from. You can use 4, 5, 6, or 8 panels to create the stack and look you want. Panel Tracks slide the same direction as your door, so it makes entering and exiting the door simple. No matter what you're looking for when it comes to covering your patio door, our Panel Tracks have the function you need to give privacy and light control to make your room a more comfortable place to enjoy.

Frequently Asked Questions
It depends on what you want the door to do. Vertical Honeycombs if the room runs hot or cold, because that glass is a major source of radiant heat and cold. Roller Shades or Panel Tracks for the cleanest modern look and the widest fabric choice. Bi-Fold Shutters where there's wall space either side, Bypass Shutters where there isn't. Sheer Verticals if you want to soften the light and keep the view. Your Design Specialist walks you through all of them standing at the door itself.
No. Every product on this page clears the doorway. Roller Shades roll up compact at the top, Panel Tracks and Bypass Shutters slide the same direction as the door, Bi-Fold Shutters fold back against the wall, and Vertical Honeycombs, Sheer Verticals and Vertical Blinds stack off to the side. Tell us which panel of your door slides and we design the stack around it.
Yes. Bi-Fold Shutters fold the panels 180 degrees back against the wall on either side of the opening, so the stack needs clear wall to sit against when open. If a cabinet, a corner or a window sits tight to the door, Bypass Shutters are the answer, because the panels slide over one another instead of folding out into the room.
Yes, with the Open Bypass option. Standard bypass panels slide past one another with the louvers closed. Open Bypass lets you leave the louvers tilted open as the panels pass, which gives you a lot more control over light and view through the day. Ask your Design Specialist to show you both at the consultation.
A large patio slider is a major source of radiant cold and heat pushing into a room, and honeycomb fabric is a great insulating barrier against it. Slide a Vertical Honeycomb closed over the glass and you feel the difference right away. Open, it stacks down to about six inches, so you keep the view and the walk through.
Yes. Roller Shades on a door run on our Solar Shield Blinds Automation, on a Cordless Lift, or on a standard chain loop. A rechargeable motor needs no wiring, so it works in an existing house, and the shade runs from a remote, the app on your phone, a wall switch or your voice. On a door, ask about magnetic hold downs so the bottom bar stays put when the door is open.
They do. Our Solar Shield Blinds Panel Tracks are cut from the same fabric line as our Roller Shades, so you choose from over 600 fabrics and can match a Roller Shade on the window next to the door. You pick 4, 5, 6 or 8 panels to set the stack and the look, and the panels slide the same direction as your door.
If you want an economical product that still does the job, yes. Vertical Blinds give full privacy or direct the light into the room whichever way you prefer, and the vanes come in PVC and fabric so the style and color fit the space. A lot of our clients don't love the way traditional verticals operate, which is why the other six options are on this page, and we'll show you the difference at the door.
Interior window treatments average 4 to 6 weeks from order to install, and Plantation Shutters, including Bi-Fold and Bypass, run 8 to 10 weeks because every panel is built to your opening. Your quote holds for 180 days, we put free paper temp shades on the door the day you order, and our own full time Install Techs hang the finished product, most in less than a day.
