Where It Fits In Lenexa
Where Sliding Screens fit in Lenexa
Lenexa's neighborhoods were built over five decades, from Old Town to WaterCrest Landing, and the doors onto the yard changed every decade.
- Patio sliders in Canyon CreekThe slider onto the deck on a Canyon Creek two story is the door that stays shut all summer for the bugs. A Sliding Screen fixes that and stays out of sight.
- French doors on the golf courseA Falcon Ridge home opening onto the course through French doors takes a double door Sliding Screen up to 130 inches wide.
- Garage doors and back doorsFront doors, back doors and garage doors all take a Sliding Screen, so the garage can be open for a breeze while you work.
- Bi-fold doors in the new homesA newer home in WaterCrest Landing or Manchester Park with a bi-fold or multi-panel door takes a Large Opening Sliding Screen up to 12 feet wide.
Worth Knowing
Fresh air through any door in the house
Lenexa homes run from the older ranches around Old Town to the two stories in Canyon Creek and Whispering Hills and the newest streets in Manchester Park and WaterCrest Landing. Across all of them the story is the same: the best door for a breeze is the one with no good screen. A swing screen door doesn't suit a slider or French doors, and a framed rolling screen stays across half the glass all season. Our Sliding Screens don't require the framing a traditional door system needs, they're built to the exact size of your door, and they retract into their housing when not in use.
In Canyon Creek and Whispering Hills the patio door is a single door or a pair of French doors, and the Standard Sliding Screen covers both: up to 65 inches wide on a single door, 130 inches on a pair, and 9 feet tall. The newer homes in Manchester Park and WaterCrest Landing with bi-fold or multi-panel doors take the Large Opening model, up to 12 feet wide and 10 feet tall, or 24 feet across in a double configuration.
Know three things before ordering: the mesh can read as wavy from some angles, the tracks call for lubricant several times a year, and there's a low threshold where the bottom track crosses the doorway. Your Design Specialist measures every door at your Lenexa home and the itemized price holds for 180 days.
Lenexa families who live on the golf course at Falcon Ridge want the course in view from the kitchen, and a framed screen across half the slider gets in the way of that all summer. A Sliding Screen sits in its housing until you need it. Pull it across for an evening with the door open, then send it back and the view is clear again.
