Retractable Awnings In Liberty
Retractable Awnings in Liberty, MO
A bare deck with no roof gets the full afternoon sun, and nobody wants a permanent cover blocking the kitchen windows. Our Retractable Awnings put full shade over a Liberty deck or patio when you want it, and roll back into their cassette when the weather is fine.
Where It Fits In Liberty
Where a Retractable Awning fits in Liberty
Uncovered decks and patios, kitchen doors that open onto a slab, and any yard where a permanent roof would block the light from the windows behind it.
- Bare decks off the kitchenAn awning shades a deck without darkening the kitchen the way a roof would, because it only casts shade while it's out.
- Patio slabs on newer lotsA cassette awning shades the whole slab and takes up no yard at all, with no posts in the lawn.
- Morning and evening sunEZ-Pitch tilts the awning down for a low sun, so an east deck at breakfast or a west deck at dinner stays in the shade.
- Dinners that run lateBuilt in LED light strips under the arms light the table after dark, dimmed with their own remote.
Worth Knowing
Sizes, the cassette, and when a shade is the better call
Our Retractable Awnings are made to exact custom widths from 10 feet up to 40 feet, and they project 8, 10 or 12 feet from the house. We only offer motorized awnings, because the weight and projection of our units make a manual crank a poor idea for extending them, and our team completes the wiring to the closest outlet during the install. The included crank handle is only for EZ-Pitch, which changes the angle with no tools and no ladder.
The integrated cassette closes around the fabric when the awning rolls in, keeping it dry and clean through a Missouri winter and protecting it from insects and birds. The valance, straight or sea wave, comes off and goes back on with very little effort for winter storage. Frames come in white, bronze or beige at no additional charge, and there are 30 Sunbrella fabrics in stock and over 300 in all, made for harsh exterior conditions.
An awning is for shade, not for wind or heavy rain, so it comes in when a storm crosses Clay County, and a wind sensor can do that for you. For a covered porch where the wind and the bugs come in from the side, an Exterior Patio Shade is the right product, and many of our clients add shades that drop from the awning later. We always say a good rule for planning an awning is between 6 and 8 weeks from order to install, and every one is covered by our Five Year Service Guarantee.

Straight Answers
Retractable Awnings questions from Liberty homeowners
Uncovered deck, awning. Covered deck or screened porch, Exterior Patio Shade. The awning shades from above and the shade blocks from the side, and your Design Specialist will settle it at your home, at no charge.
Great question! We only offer motorized retractable awnings for Liberty homes. Due to the weight and projection of our units, a manual crank for extending the awning is not advised, and we wire it to the closest outlet during the install so it works like a charm.
It does while it's out, which cuts the heat coming through a west facing kitchen slider. Retracted, it lets the light back in, which is exactly why people choose it over a permanent roof.
One awning can be made from 10 feet up to 40 feet wide, to the exact inch, and it projects 8, 10 or 12 feet from the house. Your Design Specialist measures your Liberty deck and the wall the awning mounts to before recommending a size.
No. We offer retractable awnings only, and we don't offer fixed or stretched awnings. We recommend retractable awnings because they can be put away and protected from harsh wind when they aren't in use.
Yes. Sunbrella fabrics are made for harsh exterior conditions and have earned the Skin Cancer Foundation's seal of approval as an effective UV protection. They've also earned GREENGUARD's gold certification for low chemical emissions.
